| Audit Trails |
| If someone modifies your general ledger (GL), you need to ensure that you know who made the change and when that change was made. Many standalone packages have no audit-trail or security restrictions which allow any user to take the GL out of balance with a plugged entry. For instance, suppose your accounts receivable (AR) balance is $100,000 and it matches your GL. If an unknown user changes that figure in the GL, it doesn't link to the AR balance. With Everest, only authorized users can access the GL and, thanks to a complete database foundation, you have a comprehensive record of who changes to your accounting system. In addition, every transaction is linked to either a customer or a vendor, ensuring every entry in the general ledger matches in a corresponding sub-account. |
