  The Challenge


Planet Inc. was using two business management software systems one for ERP and one for e-Commerce (NetSuite and Infopia respectively). The two disparate solutions presented a few problems for Planet Inc. First, the previous software was delivered via an on-demand / hosted solution and the NetSuite system was constantly crashing, especially when any upgrades were made to the system. And because Planet Inc. did not manage the system, they had limited control and visibility into problem resolution.

Secondly, Planet Inc. was outgrowing the capabilities and functionalities of both vendors. Planet Inc. initially selected the vendors based on what they perceived as low cost / low risk purchasing the functionality needed at the time for the lowest price, but not selecting vendors that could keep pace with their product and inventory growth.. "The frequency of vendor issues was negatively impacting our bottom-line," explained Scott LaPointe, IT director, Planet Inc.

After issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP), Planet Inc. selected Everest as their vendor of choice to drive its back-office ERP and its front-office Internet store front business. Everest provides Planet Inc. a fully integrated business operating system to manage its accounting, inventory management, service, e-Commerce store-front, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), sales force automation and point-of-sale. » Provides a multi-dimensional product cross-linking feature, which lets Planet Inc. tag and associate products across many categories and other attributes. This user-friendly feature ensures Web site visitors can quickly find the product they need.
» Matrix Functionality  New product styles can be quickly added to inventory  includes size, color, width, etc.
» Creating unique SKUs for each attribute combination is done automatically using the Everest matrix wizard. You simply select the options you want to be available for each attribute, and the wizard will create unique products in Everest with unique images and pricing
